matthainesphoto If I’m going to give you one new client tomorrow, what attributes of that client would you look for? Let’s say it is a teenage bride, getting married next weekeed in a backyard, wanting to dress in all black and only pay $500. That obviously is not your ideal client. Then what is? How old are they, what city, what venue, what style (photojournalist, vintage, modern), what theme (religous, night, destination)…? Use that info to focus your marketing.

I’m having trouble with the “know your ideal client” phase. The rest is easy once you have that narrow demographic to promote to. It’s difficult to find a common thread with my brides, other than that they’re women, and can afford me!
