95% = blog and forum commenting – creating value by adding thoughtful and insightful comments
5% = writing posts and sharing/syndicating my content

5% = guest posting

I truly enjoy commenting because it draws on my talent and passion for copywriting.

It might not work for everyone, but I’ve received significant referral traffic via blog and forum commenting strategy.

Some of my comments on other people’s blogs have generated hundreds of targeted web site visitors per year.

Here are more ideas for increasing organic website traffic:

@zachprez Thanks, Zach! Yes, it seems like Google+ has a more business feel — which I actually really like — but very few clients are there. The business communities, though, are really active and great. There are some great photography groups on there. I have been doing just what you mentioned, which is just maintaining  a presence, posting occasionally, participating in groups occasionally. I claimed Google Authorship a few weeks ago, which worked great. It does seem sensible to just keep plugging away at it. If everything google eventually gets connected to our Google+ profile, then that will be a LOT of things running through that profile. It seems sensible to start early, and go through the building stages now rather than later.

I look forward to reading whatever articles you publish on it!! I continue to love your site, and share it.

@April Bennett Thanks April. Google+ is already an important factor in search and will only continue to grow stronger. The difficulty is getting photography clients to promote your via Google+ (through referral, links, or clicking +1) like they would on Facebook. Even without clients, I advise photographers to get started now, even if it is simply creating a profile and posting stuff on occasion.

Google Authorship is the ability to connect your content to a Google profile. The largest benefit is the ability to show your headshot next to your page on a search results page. Google admittedly favors these pages higher and they receive higher click through. Others can learn more about authorship here: https://plus.google.com/authorship

I’ll think about writing a whole tutorial on Google+, since there are many considerations.

Thank you! Question: what about Google+? I read so much about how links from and through Google+ are more potent than other links, and also how one’s online presence is given more import through Google Authorship, which in turn is boosted by activity on Google+ Thoughts?
