You just plopped a camera on a tripod and let it roll? How drab is that going to be compared to the images you create? There are soooo many talented videographers out there who could create a promotional video that will capture the essence of you and what you are trying to convey to your potential clients. Honestly, I find it so sad to hear sooo many photographers preach the “charge what you’re worth” and “don’t undervalue your self and your work” but don’t want to invest in the talent of other creatives to really help themselves shine! Outside of that one point, I do look forward to diving into the other aspects of your branding article and take a much better look at my business and what I’m trying to convey.

I’m a big fan of uniqueness. It doesn’t mean a business has to be crazy, just focused.

For example, I would have gotten lost as a general marketing or search engine expert, but by focusing on photographers I’m one of a handful of industry experts. If you’d rather be the BEST at something very specific, than be one of a few dozen people that do the same thing, then choose your niche. Your niche may be a laser focus on a single wedding venue, or a particular audience like LGBT, or style like exclusively natural light.
Here’s a good example of a photographer who plays up her personal identity in a really original way: http://elizabethandjane.ca/about/
