When I typed in the “mywebsite/sitemap.xml” I had one. But I have a slightly different version in my Yoast plugin that is “mywebsite/sitemap_index.xml”. So apparently I have two of them. Should I submit both in webmaster tools or would that do more harm than good? If I should only use one, is one preferred over the other?

Comment on Page with Keywords by HeatherM https://photographyspark.com/seo-cookbook-videos/page-with-keywords/#comment-356 Mon, 25 Jan 2016 21:20:59 +0000 https://photographyspark.com/?page_id=3350#comment-356 At one point, I was advised to list the same paragraph at the bottom of each post, that was something along the lines of “Heather Mohr Photography is a St. Louis Newborn Photographer serving St. Louis, Edwardsville, Clayton…” and then going on to list every municipality for which I want to rank within our city (St. Louis Newborn Photographer being my main site key words).  Is this a practice you recommend? I have taken that down for now, but I’m not sure if this is helpful or harmful. I was concerned that posting this same thing on every single page of my website/blog would upset Google. However, I know another local photographer who has started doing this and has quickly risen up the SEO ranks.

Comment on Understanding Links by HeatherM https://photographyspark.com/seo-cookbook-videos/understanding-links/#comment-355 Mon, 25 Jan 2016 21:16:12 +0000 https://photographyspark.com/?page_id=3372#comment-355 I made the mistake about a year or so ago of participating in those link exchanges, where everyone comments on each other’s blog posts. Is this likely to be harming my SEO? Is there anything I can do to “undo” any harm that has been done as a result?

Should I update that post or keep it as is and if I need to update the information, create a new sticky post?

Does Yoast or All in One SEO automatically help with out headings or should we know exactly which head (h1, h2, etc) to use when creating a blog post?

Does this help SEO? As per FB policies, you may only change your name once. I see this causing a problem if any of these photographers ever move, they won’t be able to change their name again. What is your opinion?

So for example: Ashley Yvonne Photography is my page name but they’re adding “Tampa Photographer” at the end. Thank you!

What is the URL of the page in question?

If you are using a regular HTML5 website, but you can embed a blog post on the front page (like the most recent) can google still read it as embedded?
2. If you have a slideshow that can allow you to still do a description for each photo, plus it will allow you to have a different caption pop up underneath in a text box each time a different image comes up, can google read those captions? Or only what is constant on the page all at one time?

Comment on Local Search by zachprez https://photographyspark.com/seo-cookbook-videos/local-search/#comment-331 Thu, 28 May 2015 00:08:04 +0000 https://photographyspark.com/?page_id=3376#comment-331 JeffDietz Not sure if it helps but all three of those things are essentially merged by Google to be the same system. They have definitely had growing pains and confusion during their consolidation.

I searched for your Google Local business name “Jeff Dietz Photography of Pennsylvania”. Above the little map pinpoint in the search results I see a link for Google+ Page. That takes me to https://plus.google.com/116217180012296536567/about?hl=en which is the one you want to edit.
